Technical Support Analyst

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Technical Support Analyst to research, document and resolve technical software installation and configuration issues. This position will also support the Bi3 infrastructure and provide development support to our solutions development team.

Responsibilities:


Responsibilities of the Technical Support Analyst are:

  • Respond to technical support calls/email/internet requests meeting required service levels
  • Provide clear, concise, accurate and frequent communications to clients regarding their technical support issues
  • Research and recreate technical issues
  • Propose workarounds and alternative solutions
  • Test and document final problem resolutions
  • Maintain a knowledgebase to log all reported technical issues and resolution
  • As needed, escalate issues to 3rd parties and Senior Management
  • Perform on-site problem resolution or product installation
  • Contribute to the improvement of software products and services
  • Communicate software update and service packs to clients
  • Maintain and improve the Bi3 technical infrastructure
  • Assist the product and client solution development teams

Required Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years technical software support experience
  • Expertise and knowledge of both Windows and Unix/Linux technical environments
  • General understanding of networking, web programming, web services, database (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server), SQL and scripting technologies (e.g. Visual Basic)
  • Previous experience with Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Cognos, Business Objects, Hyperion) and/or ERP systems
  • Attention to detail in handling and tracking technical issues
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, articulate and good at managing customer expectations
  • Ability to handle multiple technical issues in an organized and competent manner

Qualifications:

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, related field, or equivalent experience to include a minimum of 2 years IT experience.

Business Performance & Process Management Analyst

Job Summary:

We are seeking a business performance/process management analyst to join our consulting team. The business performance/process management analyst will help define and implement client specific performance measures and metrics (including scorecards and dashboards) and standardized business processes.

Responsibilities:


The business performance/process management analyst will be responsible for:

  • Working with clients to understand their needs and requirements
  • Defining and implementing strategic measures based on a Scorecard framework
  • Developing performance measurement reports and analytics e.g. briefing books
  • Modeling and documenting client’s business processes
  • Defining and implementing measures for business processes
  • Refining and improving client’s existing strategic measurement system
  • Performing software installations and data integration using SQL Queries
  • Providing end user training and writing customer specific end user manuals

Required Skills and Experience:

  • At least 2 years experience as a business analyst supporting the development of business plans and strategy
  • Effective communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to learn and understand business dynamics and processes quickly
  • Ability to communicate design solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Must be able to work both independently and collaborate as a member of the team
  • Basic understanding of SQL
  • Previous experience working as a consultant is a plus
  • Experience with Business Intelligence, Workflow , Business Modeling and Performance Management tools is a plus

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Business Studies or equivalent work experience.

ETL Architect / Data Integration Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced ETL Architect / Data Integration Specialist to join our consulting team. The ETL Architect / Data Integration Specialist will take a lead role in defining the logical and physical data models, and the ETL (extract, transformation and load) architecture and standards, within the context of Business Intelligence and Corporate Performance Management solutions.

Responsibilities:


The ETL Architect / Data Integration Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Design of the logical and physical data warehouse schema
  • Developing data naming standards
  • Analyzing source systems and creating a mapping to the target database schema
  • Defining and implementing the required business transformation rules and logic (ETL development)
  • Designing and developing exception handling and data cleansing / standardization procedures
  • Optimizing ETL performance
  • Identifying and managing data quality issues
  • Assessment and recommendation of ETL tools
  • Defining a suitable architecture for data integration from multiple, disparate data sources (including legacy systems, relational databases, flat files, message queues, spreadsheets, etc.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with data analysis, modeling and design specific to a data warehouse / Business Intelligence environment (dimensional modeling)
  • Experience with the design of large scale ETL solutions integrating multiple source systems
  • Good understanding of overall data warehouse design principles and best practices
  • Experience with ETL tools such as DataStage (Ascential), Informatica, Cognos DecisionStream, Oracle Warehouse Builder
  • Extensive experience with SQL and SQL scripting for relational databases such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2, MySQL
  • Experience with one or more “best of breed” BI tools is a plus e.g. Cognos, Hyperion
  • Ability to communicate design solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Must be able to work independently and provide direction to junior staff

Qualifications:

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, related field, or equivalent experience to include a minimum five years experience in the design and development of Enterprise Data Warehouse / Business Intelligence systems.
